War was my childhood, I remember
I was born into blood-soaked lands
I was fitted for armor too early
I never had a toy, just a sword
That was so, so long ago
Are they memories, or are they just legends?
I was fitted for a crown when peacetime came
Looked like gold, felt like chains
And… God, I wish there was no one watching
Just once, let these vambraces ring out like bells
Let my armor turn to stars
Let them think what they want
And let me run
I want my childhood
Just for this moment
I’ll wear it better than the armor
I’ll dance like I’ve always laughed
I’ll sing like I’ve never cried
